THE SNEAKS HAVE ARRIVED!

We have decided to use high-top VANS for this summers Tightrope project! WOO! Students have been planning their final shoe designs and answering my two magic questions:

IF YOU WALKED A MILE IN MY SHOES YOU WOULD KNOW...

TO CONTINUE TAKING STEPS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I PROMISE TO...

THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS WILL PROVIDE THE BASIS FOR THEIR FINAL SHOE DESIGNS ON A REAL VANS SNEAKER OF THEIR VERY OWN...

The Progress Continues...

Progress continued last week as our sneaker inspired works evolved from marker on paper- 

to mixed media pieces using...

watercolor + marker + colored pencil + cut paper + stickers + 3D paper shoes...


Students had different objectives to complete with each piece:

#1: Design your own ORIGINAL shoe. 


If you could have any shoe in the world- what would it look like, and what would it do?
Would it have wings to make you fly?
Would it be magnetized to keep you on your skateboard?
Would it have springs to help you slam dunk?
Would it have an invisibility button to help you disappear?
Would it have speakers & sing to you?

#2 Camouflage or transform your sneaker into something OTHER THAN a shoe...
